The blog that is swimming in colours and words. Quite the irregular randomness by a befuddled head, not much will change on that front.

The skin of a mother
that's grown old well?
It's mottled in bits ,
freckled in specks,
warts asunder, scars and pits.
Have you known skin
that's really lived life?
Lines of laughter,
High archs of fury,
furrowing pathways.
sand dunes and crow's feet.
Have you some skin
that's breathed, been free?
tanned like leather,
soft to touch,
Heaven to kiss,
stretchy, damn good fun!
You never seen another,
like the skin of a mother.

No one but me
I lead one of my own.
traversing through secret sorrows,
hatching big plans of happiness
In this life of others,
I want more for my own;
beyond a roof for shelter,
more of a heart for caring.
In this life of others,
it is I who stands out, aloof.
Not caring for en masse'
but for the sweat of my work.
In this life of others,
money hath much prelavence.
Where twas one lone conspirator,
now, a stealthy abundance.
In this life of others,
a dollar can't buy a thought.
A thought so well-gaurded,
the owner has resigned to secrecy.
Here in this life,
there's no one but me."
A fine concept it is,
close to the hearts of too many.

Baby’s singing her song
Dirty nappies n’ powdered milk,
Where’s my mamma gone.
Daddy-o-daddy, why ain’t you here
Please change me my nappies,
why’s my skin getting blotchy…
But he’s too busy,
Cold beers and foosball,
Got the stereo on full blast
Drowning out the kid’s call
Damn that kid,
Wailing since ma woman’s gone,
It’s all she’s left me, a baby and a song
Looted, plundered, smacked n’ mashed
Whatisit at first sight…Just a load of trash.
Six months of romance, one marriage later
Two years of scrap.
Brawled, battled, battered n’ bruise
Left me with the kid,
Took ma best friend on a cruise.

strangers and mobile phones
It is customary for men to ogle, whipping out their mobile phone cameras to get a shot or two of that reasonably good looking girl. I have, on occasion, whipped out camera film and even frighhtened the daylights out of a few guys.
What paralysed me was when a girl 'sneakily' took pictures. It shook me. I was left feeling like absolute crap for not having whipped away her mobile and deleting those photos and videos.
Broad as daylight, she was sitting opposite me, albeit a bench behind. In my customary fashion, as it is with most people, I was listening to music in the 20 or 25 minutes it takes me to reach office. She was your average girl, clad in a salwar kameez, hair pulled back tight, sitting demurely in the corner.
Owing to my prior experience, I tend to be wary in public. I noticed her 'secretly' taking a picture and immediately blocked my face with my hand. I even shifted to a well guarded corner. The eye stopped for a while.
In order to get off my ride, I had to come back to my old position, which was right next to the door. Out came the mobile and the flashlight was switched on. I was completely freaked and got out in a hurry.
Guys stop when they get nasty stares. What does one do with women like these? Clobber them? Snatch their phones? Probably the next time 'round I will. For a first time experience, this was rather scary; more so because she seemed to be about the same age as me.

deja vu
Been a while
Since we’ve had the time,
Each one of us
Let loose and carefree.
Where we are going
And whom are we doing it for
It speaks in our pride
And voluminizes the silence.
Each little silence
Drips with such force
Each minute detail in the floor
Rises to hold the ceiling.
Shattered, sputtering,dying to cave in
the low rise designs hold steady
a high rising, yet crumbling façade.
In the hope of love she conquered many,
Yet ignored the only one treasured.
Deep inside the clockwork kept ticking,
It’s rhythm, bleating a yearning
For days gone by.
Go into the framework,
Look how it holds
cracks soldered, beams nailed.
Here you feel the strength we shared,
the shadows we deem our own.
Like stuck records we return
Rejuvenate and rejoice
Forever looking forward
To a future as beautiful as the past

wholesale race
The world's a funny place,
people are a funny race.
Not ever knowing their needs, they grace
every store with aplomb and finesse.
Sniff the apples, check the pears,
Choose your soap with paper napkins to spare
Ah! The red scrollers flash Bargains!
Suddenly the aisle’s disappeared
In a sea of bodies, pushing as one,
To reached the elusive haggle on sale.
‘Heave’, they say, ‘Ho! And shift’
You’ve taken your share
Move away, don’t me miff.’
The lady at the counter, she balks
at the mob headed her way,
preparing herself for another
halved prices sale day!

find me a God!
Find me my island
Find me a god!
Wandering so far,
yet home I have not found
nor a roofed shed.
Sweltering in turmoil,
reality beats my face
The body requires no shade
when the heart has fled it's stay.
Wirthing from within,
tear streaks mark the days.
For whom does this shell wait?

love lost, never was
of another heart broken.
The sound of a soul shattering
on the last legs of its keeper's tolerance
Just how awful must she be.
to have hurt and not repented
the damage to one so pure.
It's worse the first time 'round.
Picking up the broken pieces
trying to mend them doesn't work.
A mismatched patch, lovingly soothed...
and she is nearly whole.
gently she broods over what's past
Know that this was cruelty not
but such love as one will only see.
Such love, it could never be.

lazy lazy days
But then I again when I get out of this rapt state, it hits me how much is left...But I can not regret my lovely lazy days...So wonderful to take a backseat while everyone around is buzzing with activity...
Just thinkin of it all makes me wanna switch off this comp, take a book and curl up on my swing...Its the perfect weather for all this too...rainy and splendidly cooler...

Grief
During blinding white winters
I can feel your summer on me
When I turn a corner
Every time I face the dark
It’s your voice that carries me
Come besides me in the pouring rain
Let me shed the tears that you had not time for
Come to me when I need you
And stay by me when I don’t
It’s hard that you must live this way
Only in memories, in the world no more
When I look into the depths of time
I see the skipped possibilities
Mocha in the sun, siestas on the lawn
All day parties by the pool side
Tell what I should do now
My life’s empty as a shell
Will I find another ocean?
Another who will claim me as their own?

busy at work ;)
I'm working, keeps me busy.
No, I won't tear your hair out
I really haven't the time.
I'm ever so busy and absolutely awash
I can't even spare a lime.
Oh! A lime you know,
So sweet and sour, tangy...
A little like me, more like you,
A lot like these conversations we're having.
Whip the cream out of the yogurt,
Put the lime in some honey,
I've really got to hurry.
Can't wait to reach
My lazy office seat
and type a lot of email slurry.

whats happening ahead
is it just a little traffic
or a record stuck in my head.
where am i headed?
words can never tell
whats holding up the traffic
so deep inside my head?
little whifs of breeze
charm me out of the car
a promising lilting lightness
fils the air around..
I'm off on my ownsome
a trip to the faraway
traffic happens on the road
but the destination doesn't change

love n the raindrops
Little drops of water
Raining down on me
As I lay here
Besides my fantasy
Love that never was
A future that I’ll never see
Yet a flame of hope
Keeps us burning
Soldering, melting, uniting,
Forever forging a half-wit bond
Sweet nothings that fulfil needs
Flowing white silver and blood
Crystalline as the purest stone
Only reflections, it’s not an image

all for a smile
li'l shootin stars, drenching me in their warmth
washing over me like waves at sea
but i'm somewhere in the sky
soaring high above anything else...
only 'cause you smiled a while,
got my eyes dancing and feet bouncing.
fingers that itch to brush you by
just so you'd turn a little, gimme a smile,
look in my eyes and watch me fly.

short story
Her first cycle. The first time she drove without being held. Playing run and catch, while snaking through the community buildings. The rich blue colour of the car that dad bought. Her life's turning point, her surgery.
When was the last time she actually went beyond her career, took the time to organise her life instead of the office. The clients loved her, but to come home each day to walls memories had not touched, lavish, clean and beautiful, the ambience every reputed hotel attempts to create. You could imagine the brisk glamour of business here, not the warmth of a family.
She wasn’t a loner, oh no. There were trips to other cities, movies, lunches, dinners and clients that kept popping up. Diwali, New Years, birthdays and anniversaries, these needed appointments and dealt with secretaries.
The last time she lazed a whole day away was so far back, all she knew was that no relaxation therapy could hold a burnt match head, much less a candle, to it. It was one of those days when the world seemed to be at peace, churning the day out wondrously slow
The little girl grew up as she stood in the doorway, watching her childhood slip quietly away, in to the recesses of past glory, nestling itself, now only in memories.
